About

Matt KennyWhite Mountains Woodworking was founded by Matt Kenny. Born on the Fourth of July like his grandfather, Matt started life in Flint, Michigan. A visit to a friend in 1980 brought him to Arizona, where a job with the U.S. Forest Service gave Matt an understanding of Arizona’s White Mountains resources—the world’s largest Ponderosa pine forest plus aspen, alligator juniper, oak, spruce and fir trees. After years of ranching, Matt decided to build cabinets for his own home and basically learned by doing. Now his fine furniture is influenced by Arizona’s natural resources, including copper, turquoise and other minerals, and demand for his work is growing.
